Professional Look – or Price
Which would you rather have ? A “Professional Looking” website, or pay a “Professional Price” ? Of course, it would all depend on how that site turned out in the end, right ? Getting a Professional Look on a website probably does come with a Professional Price a lot of the time – but what if you could get a Professional Looking website without the Professional Price ? Of course you’d jump at the opportunity.
This topic is inspired as my wife and I are currently shopping for a new car. About a week ago our reliable Honda Accord was totalled. The car was 8 years old and had treated us very well over the years. We’re now faced with a challenge of finding something new for the money the insurance company is willing to give us. We are struggling right now with a decision on a relatively nice, high-end car for an incredible price – why not jump at that opportunity ? Well, mainly because we’re worried about what other people will think if we show up in some luxury-mobile. We’re also right in the middle of trying to find ways that my wife can stay home with our kids – and just next week she goes from full-time to part-time in order to spend more time with our kids.
Is ‘what others will think’ a viable worry when purchasing a car ? If your last name is “Jones” and you know all your neighbors are already trying to keep up with you – then you probably don’t worry too much about it. If you are anyone else, you probably care at least a little about what other people might think. Is it the same with a website ? Thankfully, the answer is a great big NO!
You want the absolute best website you possibly can for the best price – you would actually prefer that other people be tremendously impressed by the “expensive” look of it in hopes that such a site brings you increased visitors or sales.
So, why isn’t it the same with everything in life ? I believe it should be. If someone is going to talk behind your back, then they’ll never know what a great deal you got – and they’ll probably continue on with their lives never knowing. On the other hand, you will probably share the details of the great deal with those closest to you in hopes of helping them find a great deal just like you did.
I hope this makes sense to most of you out there and that you can relate in some way. Next time you see your neighbor driving a nice new car, talk to them – maybe you can learn something from them and become more successful yourself.
